HISTORY OF SIGOR HIGH SCHOOLThe school was established in May 1965 as an intermediate school. The authority to start the school was pursued by Mr. Joseph Mosonik eventually Mr. Shadrack kimalel from the Ministry of Education authorised the establishment.The first head teacher of the school from 1965 – 1967 was Mr. Edward Siele and Mr. Nicholas Sang was teaching at the school. At that time the school was mixed Harambee school i.e Boys and Girls and were 40 in number. During the initial setting up of the school it was mandatory that committee was supposed to raise Kshs 40000/=.Mr.Joseph Mosonik collected money without an official receipt hence an Education officer was send to the school to prove that money had been used as expected hence the expenditure was approved and the school established. The second headteacher from 1967 – 1968 was Mr. Paul Kosgei. From then on the school grew from strength to strength,the school got enormous assistance of the facilities through the following dignitaries. Hon. Ronald Ngala established a workshop. The Late Hon.Tom Mboya – Water Pump. Hon. Joseph Kamotho – donated funds . Hon. John Koech – fund and professional advice as a teacher. Hon. Isaac Ruto – Funds and professional advice. His Excellency Former head of state PresidentDaniel Moi – Donated funds . In 1969 the government took over the school with first form ones, the first lot of students did their Cambridge examination in 1968 and KJSE was done in form 2.The school produced the best candidate in the year 2005. Josphat Langat attained “ A” grade.
